Inception

MizFitz Productions began on June 19, 2002, at a time when the kitchen and bathroom industry was in renaissance. No longer simple utility areas of the home, kitchen and bathrooms were seen by homeowners as rooms to reflect their lifestyles just like an outdoor dining area, artwork or coastal colour scheme.

Such demand gave rise to the freelance environment designer, independent of the kitchen and renovation companies and with the time, expertise and contacts to make kitchens and bathrooms into something truly special.

With extensive experience in 3D modelling and graphics, desktop publishing and product development , MizFitz Productions grasped the opportunity with both hands and is now a market leader in quality independent household design.

Who is MizFitz Productions?

Director and operator Peta Fitgerald holds a BA in Human Environmental Design, a KDA (Kitchen Designers Association) Certificate and is a lifetime certified NKBA (National Kitchen & Bathroom Association) designer.

With 17 years' experience in the field, Peta leads a talented and highly qualified team of designers to keep up with demand for her outstanding work.

Why the frangipani?

Plenty of home environment designers become known for a specific look, and homeowners seek them out to feature their work in the home as if a work of art.

That's not us. We're all about you, the look you want and what will work for you in the space available. The frangipani is a statement of our ability to let your ideas blossom and bring them to life organically instead of locking you into a house style that's more an advertisement for our service than your dream kitchen or bathroom.

Like all great designs in nature, the frangipani is there to be seen and enjoyed, a dream realised and bought to fruition. And as our motto says – have your dreams and REAL-IZE them!

Mizfitz

MizFitz was a high school nickname given to director Peta Fitzgerald when a certain theatre arts teacher yelled 'hurry up, MizFitz, you're late!' across a high school quadrangle of years past. Thus christened according to her nature for being something of a misfit, the name stuck.

How, you might ask, can a misfit design my kitchen or bathroom? It's about imagination, looking into every corner for every possibility, thinking outside the box, and helping your ideas take flight when other kitchen designers have shaken their head and said it's just 'not done that way'.

We're called MizFitz Productions rather than MizFitz Designs or MizFitz Creative because once the plans and designs are drawn, we don't take the money and run. MizFitz Productions kitchen or bathroom is just that – a production we see through to the end.

Peta thought long and hard about the name, worried it would never be taken seriously. When her darling grandmother passed away, it was an epiphany to go with her instincts and never take herself too seriously. MizFitz Productions was promptly registered and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
