"Like most people, we put up with an unusable kitchen for many years, because it seemed too hard to get anything done about it. There was very little storage space and those cupboards we had were small and hard to get to. The bench tops was full of things that would not fit into the cupboards, and the open shelving made everything look even more untidy. Cupboards and bench tops were off white, which showed up all the dirt and stains. The oven was squashed up against a cupboard, and when the gas burners slowly started to die off, we realised that something had to be done."
